15th Annual Harlan & Rita Temple Virtual 5K

Run. Walk. Ride. Wheel.

Join the South Dakota Occupational Therapy Association (SDOTA) for our 15th Annual Harlan & Rita Temple Virtual 5K! Whether you choose to run, walk, bike, roll, or wheel, you can participate from anywhere while supporting the future of occupational therapy in South Dakota.

Complete your 5K (3.1 miles) anytime between September 1–30 at a location and pace that works for you. Gather your family, coworkers, classmates, therapy team, or friends and make it a fun community event!

Participants are encouraged to snap a photo during their activity and share it with SDOTA so we can celebrate together throughout the month. Virtual participants from anywhere are welcome.

Registration Details

Registration Fee: $30 per participant
Register by September 21 to guarantee an event t-shirt
All registered participants will be entered into prize drawings.

How It Works

Register online through SDOTA.
Complete your 5K anytime from September 1–30.
Choose how you participate: run, walk, ride, wheel, or another adaptive method of movement.
Share a photo of your experience with SDOTA for a chance to be featured on our social media pages and to celebrate our OT community.

Supporting Future Occupational Therapy Practitioners

Proceeds from this event benefit the Harlan and Rita Temple Endowed Scholarship, administered through the American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF).

The scholarship is awarded to students in good standing who are enrolled in accredited occupational therapy or occupational therapy assistant programs. Preference is given to students who are residents of South Dakota and members of the South Dakota Occupational Therapy Association.

By participating in this event, you are helping invest in the next generation of occupational therapy practitioners and supporting the future of our profession.

Preparing to take the NBCOT certification exam? Join us for an informative virtual session designed to help future OTRs and COTAs better understand what to expect throughout the national certification exam process.

During this session, NBCOT Ambassador Allison Naber, PhD, OTD, OTR/L, will share valuable information about preparing for and applying to take the national OTR and COTA certification exams.
