The mission of the South Dakota Occupational Therapy Association is to provide a community for professional development and networking of members in rural and metropolitan areas in South Dakota. SDOTA advances relationships with AOTA as well as related professional communities. The organization functions to educate the public regarding their unique and relevant contributions of occupational therapy statewide.
We envision that the South Dakota Occupational Therapy Association (SDOTA), as an inclusive, active, membership will influence healthcare and wellness in South Dakota.
Occupational therapists assist clients of all ages, in a variety of settings, to participate in meaningful and purposeful activities, referred to as occupations.
Through use of evidence based interventions, occupational therapy professionals provide services that influence daily participation in areas such as school, work, education, leisure, social engagement, and activities of daily living.
